I am an English Teacher with experiences of teaching university students, High School students, Vocational School and lastly I am now teaching at Junior High School. To the best of my knowledge, teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL) is such a huge challenge. Why is it so?
It is first, because of the status in which English is totally foreign in our context, different from English as taught in Malaysia, Singapore, or India in which English is a second language.
Second, here English is taught amid hard conditions: limited exposure, facilities, and motivation. Thus, EFL teachers have the biggest challenge to improve students' competence while still worrying with those hindrances. .
The last, students have no idea about why should they learn English as the expert say. Thus, teachers just need to be creative to make the process of teaching and learning ease, fun and meaningful.
As a consequence, teachers should equip him/herself to be good in everything: pedagogical, subject matter, classroom management, interactions, and technology which will help them face all the challenges above listed. Bravo English Teachers.
Beside an English teacher role, I let my self become a wife of a kind-hearted husband and a mom for my two angels from heaven: Mayasa and Cherisha. Those people are my energy booster and my light source. Love you gaess.
and, as a single creature, I let my self love coffee, reading fictions, writing, and gardening and some other times, gossiping. hahahah
You may know me better from my writing in FB
